APS Ethernet

Robust Ethernet for IVAGO's production network

The production network for Ivago's waste energy plant was completely renewed during a production stop. As an integrator of data networks, APS nv took care of the entire process from design to installation.

In consultation with Ivago's IT and AEC Team, the network outlines were drawn. In concrete terms, the choice fell on fibre-optic cable in view of the distances to be bridged, permanent availability and maximum shielding!

For Ivago, APS realised a glass fibre backbone based on "Air Blown Fiber" in which 12, 24 or more "single mode" glass fibres can be blown according to current needs. Various fibre-optic pairs were finished with connectors by means of "fusion splicing" technique in 19-inch drawers. Some copper cables were also renewed and finished on RJ45 patch panels in 19-inch data cabinets.

A failsafe ethernet network was provided for permanent monitoring of the production processes. Several fibre-concentration and routing switches were interconnected to form a virtual cluster arrangement.

The VSPs (Virtual Services Platforms) form the central hub. Each data cabinet is equipped with two active access switches which are in turn connected via fibre to the core systems. In the event of an emergency, the IT systems can be switched immediately.

APS is an integrator of (W)LAN networks. A team of 30 driven specialists is ready for the realisation of any LAN and cabling project.
